MKWD and BFP joint meeting held

 

              On June 10, 2015 at 9:00 in the morning, representatives from Metro Kidapawan Water District and the Bureau of Fire Protection in Kidapawan City met at the MKWD Mess Hall for a joint meeting. The meeting which was initiated by MKWD aims to present the operational fire hydrants at different service areas and protocol on water supply withdrawals at fire hydrants during fire incidents and non-fire prevention or suppression purposes. Representatives of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Kidapawan City were FO1 Jayson John E. Diazon, driver; FO2 Tongan S. Dialo, nozzleman; and SFO1 Sunny G. Tomas, current caretaker of Kidapawan City Fire Station. MKWD group was headed by AGM for Operations Engr. Wilesper Lisandro M. Alqueza, who introduced the other nine (9) representatives from MKWD. Engr. Ares M. Tiway, Jr. of the Water Resources Division did a topographical presentation through power point the different active fire hydrants within Apo Sandawa Homes Subdivisions, Poblacion Kidapawan, and Poblacion Magpet. He also presented the protocol on water supply withdrawals from fire hydrants. After the presentation, Engr. Alqueza reiterated and gave emphasis on the protocol that only MKWD personnel will open the valves of fire hydrants in any situation.

                It was also understood by both parties that those concerned individuals or groups that need bulk water supply which might use the fire trucks of BFP shall process their request or write letters addressed to the GM. FO2 Tongan Dialo suggested to MKWD that the type of fire hydrant near the City Gymnasium, across the PNP station is better. BFP representatives also recommended that installation of fire hydrants in the area from Barangay Lanao to Amas be given priority. Before the joint meeting adjourned,  AGM Alqueza informed BFP representatives that after this meeting MKWD will provide a letter containing significant details tackled during the meeting, and copies of the presentations.  Both parties also agreed to create a composite team to conduct ocular inspection of the fire hydrants.
