A DAY FOR MOTHER EARTH
April 22 is the worldwide observance of Earth Day since it started in 1970, which made this year its 45th. Metro Kidapawan Water District line-up the following activities for this year’s Earth Day celebration:
a) CLEAN AND GREEN ACTIVITY
As early as 6:30 AM MKWD personnel assigned for this activity started weeding and cleaning their assigned area within the MKWD compound, Lanao, Kidapawan City.
b) TREE-PARENTING AND PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
The ten (10) divisions of MKWD sent three (3) representatives to these activities. One of whom was their representative to the Photo contest which was entitled, MKWD Watershed: Our shots for Mother Earth.
c) EARTH HOUR FOR MOTHER EARTH
At 4:30 to 5:30 PM the MKWD workforce gathered in the covered court for an Earth Hour for Earth Day.
The program included Earth Day video viewing and candle-lighting ceremony.
