Kidapawan City Honorable Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista submitted a summary of more than twenty water system projects for Kidapawan City which were enrolled under the Cost Recovery Scheme of the Metro Kidapawan Water District and Kidapawan City LGU.
These collaborations between the City LGU and MKWD were offshoots of the fulfillment of the mandates of both government entities to provide their constituents the basic need for “sufficient supply of safe and potable water”.
Material costs of these projects are being funded by the City Government on a Cost Recovery Scheme. While the labor components are provided by Metro Kidapawan Water District from its Capital Expenditure allocation.
By the end of September 2015, a total of nine (9) different projects have been completed; materials for another nine (9) projects were already procured and ready for endorsement to MKWD; two (2) are now with the Bids and Awards Committee subject for bidding; and documents of five (5) projects are being prepared for endorsement to BAC.
The nine accomplished projects have a total cost of Php 4,075,014.20. The remaining projects to be implemented will cost Php 5,082,582.59.
Material costs of projects under the cost recovery program are offered by the City LGU to MKWD on an interest-free loan with the common desire to provide the stakeholders or constituents with sufficient supply of safe and potable water.
